What about coaching ?

Coaching @ Springwood

Springwood offers age-appropriate coaching, skills development, and strength and conditioning programs to support athletes as they grow and progress through Little Athletics.

Our coaching approach is designed to match each athlete’s age, stage of development and experience. Younger athletes focus on movement, confidence and fun, while older athletes gradually build more event-specific technique, strength and conditioning.

Tiny Tots

Tiny Tots coaching is delivered through their weekly program in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment.

The focus is on helping children develop gross motor skills such as running, jumping, throwing, balance and coordination. Activities are designed to be playful and engaging, giving young athletes the chance to build confidence while enjoying being active.

Junior Development (U6 to U8)

For U6 to U8 athletes, coaching is offered both during the standard weekly program and through an additional mid-week session.

This stage focuses on introducing basic event skills while continuing to develop coordination, balance, movement patterns and confidence. Athletes are encouraged to learn through participation, practice and positive reinforcement.

Intermediate to Senior (U9 - U17)

As athletes move into the U9 to U17 age groups, coaching becomes more focused on refining event technique and supporting age-appropriate strength and conditioning.

Coaching is available during the standard program, with additional mid-week sessions offered to help athletes further develop their skills, confidence and performance. These sessions support athletes across running, jumping and throwing events while encouraging safe progression and personal improvement.

Extending your athletes skills

Springwood works with a range of highly qualified coaches who offer additional coaching opportunities for athletes who would like extra support or more specialised training.

These opportunities may include squad sessions or individual coaching, depending on the athlete’s age, event interests and development goals.

Please note that additional coaching is offered separately from the standard Springwood program and may involve extra costs.
